To break the monotony, Thrones Lounge and The Singleton are returning with another edition of The Big Meeting.

The Big Meeting is a curated social experience that blends music, culture and premium whisky, held on the last Sunday of every month.

Over previous editions, the event has introduced creative elements such as Sip and Paint sessions and DIY cocktail workshops, allowing revellers to mix their own drinks.

The interactive format has been repeated several times due to popular demand, with socialites and partygoers embracing the experience as a shared moment of creativity.

Guests are encouraged to experiment, often producing both perfectly balanced and questionable cocktail combinations, turning the gathering into a relaxed bonding experience.

Simon Lapyem, the Singleton Brand Manager for East Africa, said The Big Meeting was intentionally designed as a pause from the rush of everyday life.

“The Big Meeting was created as a deliberate pause in a fast-moving world — a space where people can slow down, connect, and engage with whisky beyond the glass,” Lapyem said.

“Every edition is designed to feel intimate yet elevated, encouraging guests to experiment, express themselves, and build shared moments around The Singleton. Whether it’s through music, art, or crafting their own cocktails, the goal is always to make whisky feel personal, social, and memorable,” he added.

Past editions of The Big Meeting have featured a mix of regional and local talent, including Nigerian artist Nonso Amadi, Vinka and Maurice Kirya.

The event has also showcased leading deejays such as DJ Kasbaby, DJ Dash and DJ Jerry, among others.

As 2026 begins, The Big Meeting returns with its signature energy, though the opening edition of the year will be a homegrown affair, featuring a familiar host and a lineup of celebrated DJs.

Lynda Ddane, a regular at The Big Meeting, will host the first edition of 2026. Over the years, she has impressed audiences with both her DJ sets and her hosting skills, earning her the nickname Queen of Happiness for her ability to set the tone and energy of the event.

She will be joined by a lineup of DJs including Nova, Big E, Em That Guy, Kamali, Sir Aludah, Kasbaby, DJ Ssese and Esau, among others.

Each brings a distinct sound to the night, from Kamali’s Afro-electronic rhythms to Sir Aludah’s enduring celebration of Kidandali music.

Organisers say that while many of the DJs on Sunday’s lineup are already well-established, the event marks only the beginning of a year in which they plan to continuously raise the bar with future editions.
